He would rub against them like a kitty kat. He sits sometimes and mostly takes treats gently. Pottied multiple times while out.

He potties many many times out of the kennel. He is easy to leash and easy to return. Strong pull on leash but in a harness leash very manageable. Once the tires out, he walks loose leash. Friendly boy!

03/10/2026 *Went on Group walk with A5156584 and A5159779 Dog had easy kennel pull and allowed easy leashing. Dog pulled moderately on path to meet up location. Once walk began dog was in back of line, dog pulled strongly the entire time while in back of line, and would pull harder when closer to other dogs. Dog pulled without traction (not moving), handler would not allow introduction. Half way through walk handler changed order and dog was towards front of line. If handler behind dog moved closer than 20 ft dog would turn around and try to make contact with other dog. Handler increased distance. Dog continued to turn back towards other dog, handler created far distance (100 ft) and dog eased up on pulling and stopped looking back at other dogs. Handler returned dog to kennel without issue and removed leash by hand.

11/16/2025 At front of kennel with wagging tail, soft body. Accepted treat gently and stayed at front of kennel while door was being opened, allowed for easy leash placement. Strong pull out of kennel and out of building, no signs of reactivity to dogs in passing, marked on way to play yard, no issues directing to play yard. In yard dog immediately began marking/sniffing around yard, would go potty then came to handler with soft body soliciting attentions, allowed petting all over. Would continue to explore with soft body, loose tail. Soft body when staff member outside of yard said "hi" to dog, wagging tail then ran to handler accepting pets. Came to handler when called over with wiggly body, strong leash pull back to kennel. No signs of reactivity to dogs in passing. Walked into kennel on own, allowed handler to remove leash by hand.

10/30/2022 on handler approach, dog was highly aroused, tail wagging, jumping repeatedly at liferoom door. after a mildly difficult leashing experience, dog pulled hard on our way outside. as we left the shelter, the dog pulled less and less, becoming more curious in his surroundings. dog came when called by name, sat for treats and leaned into petting. dog allowed petting all over, and played fetch. reactive to dogs in the liferoom, but noticeably less reactive when out of kennel. easy return to liferoom, with moderate pulling, easy leash removal as dog sat for treats.

10/29/2022 Dog was slightly reactive in liferoom when another dog walked by. Handler was able to get dog attention away from other dog walking by.

10/28/2022 Took dog out for morning walk and yard time. dog sat for handler for leash placement, pulled lightly on our walk to the yard, was reactive toward passing dogs. in the yard, dog explored and solicited affection from handler, leaning into petting. dog sat for treats and played fetch. easy return to kennel, minimal pulling and easy leash removal.

10/27/2022 Canine was chewing on kennel gate when handler walked past. Once handler approached front of kennel gate, canine stopped and solicited attention.

10/21/2022 Took dog out for PM walk & yard time. Easy kennel pull, dog allowed easy leash placement but did bolt quickly out of kennel toward wing exit. When out of building, dog softened a bit, leisurely walking/sniffing/marking areas on the way to yard; no reactivity was witnessed during this time. When in yard, dog quickly began exploring & claiming toys; particularly interested in tennis/tough balls. No issues w/ toys, dog fetched and released without issue, seemed to enjoy fetch. Dog also rolled around in the kiddie pool multiple times; appeared to enjoy the pool & water. Easy re-leashing, dog walked much nicer to return to kennel, dog re-kenneled easily.

Immediately began to fence fight with neighboring dog. Handler continued walking, dog fence fought with each dog while walking to the play yard. Explored play yard. Allowed petting on head and body and leaned into pets. Wagging tail and wiggly body in the play yard. Allowed leash placement without issues and walked back to kennel on leash. Strong leash puller and fence fighting on the way back to kennel. Easy kennel return, used second elash/clip leash for leash removal.

09/13/2022 Jumpin kennel on approach but settled for leash placement. He pulled strong on the leash at first and slightly settled during middle of walk. Somewhat reactive to dogs in the wings, but easily distracted. Went back into kennel easily.

09/12/2022 Easy pull, walk on a leash. Fence fighting. Explored the yard and playfull. Approach the handler when called. Seeks attention. Walked back to kennel.

09/11/2022 pulls on leash. Attention span lasts about 3 seconds before getting distracted. Will respond to "sit" if you have treats and will focus longer. Normal firm stool. Returned to kennel with no issues.

09/10/2022 K9 jumped onto kennel fence a few times and cried with a wagging tail and wiggly body. Once on the leash and walking past other dogs in their kennels, K9 did react with a low body and barking and almost charging motions to the other dogs. Once past the dogs, K9 did well walking on a leash. We walked around a corner and there was a dog in one of the yards off the sidewalk we were on and the K9 did pull the leash to charge at the fence with low body and barking at the dog in the yard. K9 does not do well when he can see other dogs in sight. During the walk, the K9 had a wagging tail, sniffed the bushes, and went to the bathroom and walked around on the leash very well with no pulling. K9 listened when being talked to to keep going or to stop. Bringing K9 back into kennel, K9 did show more charging actions to the dogs in the other kennels when walking by but once in the kennel, he laid back down.

What kind of animals? How would you describe the interaction with other animals?-- PER OWNER, THIS DOG HAS NEVER INTERACTED WITH OTHER DOGS WHILE HE HAS OWNED HIM. OWNER STATES THAT BRINGING THIS DOG INTO THE LOBBY WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAS SEEN HIM AROUND OTHER DOGS. THIS DOG WAS OBSERVED IN THE INTAKE LOBBY GROWLING AND PULLING TOWARD OTHER DOGS, AND VOCALIZING WITH HIGH-PITCHED WHINES. ONCE OUTSIDE, THIS DOG CONTINUED TO PULL TOWARD OTHER DOGS OUTSIDE. --Has your pet been around any other people or children? If yes, how would you describe the animals behavior towards other people/children?-- PER OWNER, DOG HAS NOT BEEN AROUND YOUNG CHILDREN. HOWEVER HE STATES INTERACTIONS WITH ALL PEOPLE THIS DOG HAS MET HAVE BEEN POSITIVE. External ears are free of discharge/redness. Oral - Mild generalized tartar and gingivitis. H/L/MM - Heart rate and rhythm normal, no murmurs or arrhythmias appreciated. Normal bronchovesicular sounds. Normal respiratory rate and effort. No coughing or sneezing. No stertor, no stridor. Mucous membranes pink and moist with CRT<2s. INTEG - Coat is clean and clear of redness and ectoparasites. Roughly 2cm fluctuant subcutaneous swelling on medial forehead between eyes, non-painful, not warm to touch. A: - patient normothermic at time of vaccines, did not recheck at time of exam as patient is BAR and resting/calm - soft fluctuant swelling on medial forehead: r/o cyst vs abscess vs other P: - attempt lancing facial swelling tomorrow - medically okay to PUFA 11/15/25 13:55 Addendum. Reviewed patient photos in Chameleon and patient has had same forehead swelling since intake in 2022, although it appears mildly enlarged. Attempted sampling mass and no fluid was obtained - suspect mass is soft tissue rather than fluid as previously suspected. Recommend adopter follow up with family veterinarian for further diagnostics (i.e. FNA/cytology) to determine if removal is indicated. SH
