05/21/2025 AM Rounds - Chewed up stuffies, QAR. |
05/21/2025 Easy pull from kennel, hard pull to yard. puppy like behavior in yard, k9 played fetch, used the snuffle mat, jumped into the pool, zoomies around yard. k9 demonstrated how to use the agility equipment in the agility yard. solicited attention, attempted to jump on handlers, listened to off. hard pull back to kennel, easy return, removed leash by hand no issues. |

05/17/2025 AM Rounds - Soft wiggly body at door, jumped up when near. |
05/17/2025 Out for Purple training w/ volunteer. Firm pull coming out of the kennel, seems to settle when distance from kennel is increased. Very engaging in yard, some jumping up, allowed petting, eager to work for treats. Enjoyed playing in the pool. Grabbed empty treat baggie in mouth and ran around with it, allowed handler to trade for it. Readily rekenneled for tossed duck jerky strip. |
05/16/2025 Went to PetSmart training class: Buckley was an absolute superstar. He came in with some really bad pulling issues but we were able to get it to a much more manageable amount. He was extremely smart and very food and toy motivated. I believe using a toy as a lure we could get him to a solid heel position with no issue. He loves to work and play and is definitely a very trainable boy |
05/16/2025 Dog kept jumping up when approached kennel, handler would toss treats for dog to settle then open kennel to present leash. Leashed dog once dog settled in kennel. Walked with a strong pull to PY. Explored PY with a relaxed body. Kept jumping up on handler, handler would side step & toss treats away from body to redirect dog. Played fetch in PY with tennis balls. Appears to know "SIT" & "PAW" for treats. Would take treats gently. High energy in PY, handler would scatter treats in PY for dog to "find it". Walked back to kennel with a strong pull on leash. Handler tossed treats into kennel for dog to enter. Removal of leash done with a clip leash due to amount of jumping during leash placement. |
05/16/2025 Easy to leash, heavy pull short walk to yard. In agility yard, K9 used all equipment - tends to run up and down the A frame the most - also enjoys jumping through hoops and over jump bar, also stop and sat on platform, ran through tunnel a couple of times. Once some energy was expended in agility yard, handler took K9 for a walk, using modified harness to assist with K9's heavy pull. K9 tended to pull hard when seeing people (or other dogs) but calmed down significantly and loose leash walked when no people were around. Once walk was completed and harness was removed, heavy pull did resume, K9 walked right to his own kennel and entered on his own. Allowed easy leash removal and door closure (also allowed some pets and positive reinforcements before closing kennel door, all without issue). K9 then accepted hot dog treats gently through kennel door as well. |
05/14/2025 Buckley came with high energy, overstimulated. at fenceline with Charlie, Buckley slowed somewhat sniffed through fence and stepped back to assess charlie. Buckley came into yard high energy. Handlers kept hold of leashes while both dogs engaged in rough and rowdy play. Charlie's leash was dropped first and Charlie engaged with Bucklley with more rowdy play. Charlie did start leveling Bucley down with body butting, and jumping on buckley and nibbling at ears and mouth. After dropping Buckley's leash dogs engaged in more play with Charlie softly correcting Buckley with nibbling and getting him to slow using pool play, and jumping up softly on Buckley's back with play nibbles on neck. Buckley did eventually slow down and they play well. Buckley would benefit with a good separation and adjustment time from any new dog in home. And, any adopter would need to establish good rules, structure, and guidance through training. Also recommend slow repeated monitored introductions on leash with any new dog. |

05/07/2025 Tried buckley with Jace. Buckley was walked 10 minutes before and went to separate yard with calming stations. At fenceline Buckley was very animated, over stimulated, and highly focused on playing with the other dog. Buckley did a lot of play bowing and pulling toward the fenceline to interact with the other dog Jace. Jace was reciporcating the play at the fence, but at one point did alert bark to try and level Buckley, but buckley was over excited. Handlers brought buckley in, and Jace held his own with buckley keeping up with the play, and at one point trying to correct buckley down. We did drop Jace's leash but held onto buckley's leash. Buckley had full movement. Buckley was very animated, pushy, and rowdy with his play. Jace did keep up but exited after his corrections to level down went unnoticed by buckley. Will try buckley again. |

04/19/2025 Out for Purple training w/ volunteer. Hard pull, bouncing/jumping but tended to avoid collosion w/ handlers. Very energetic in yard, zooming, running for tossed toys but no fetch/retrieve, would pick up toys & self-entertain, seemed to particularly enjoy squeaky toys. Dog took a break, began drinking from already-full bowl, then began digging in it. Handler approached, rinsed bowl & refilled, dog drank w/out disturbing it. Handler also opted to begin filling pool in yard, dog splashed through, loose body language, lolling tongue/soft face, began chomping at water from a safe distance, played w/ stream but made no attempt to access source of water.
