About me Hi Future Dog Moms and Dads! My official name is Chapo, but around here, they call me Truffle—because when I get excited (especially if there’s food involved), I snort like a little truffle-hunting piggy! My foster mom and dad think it’s hilarious when I go into food-detective mode, sniffing out treats and snorting away. I’ve formed a super close bond with my foster dad, and I get so excited when he comes home. I’ve been learning not to jump up in excitement—I'm doing much better, but sometimes I still get a little bouncy. I just love being with my people! When you sit down, I might get a little too enthusiastic and try to smother you in kisses. My dad is helping me work on giving humans their personal space, but I just want you to know how happy I am to see you! Once I settle down, I’m a world-class snuggler. I love curling up next to my people on the couch—being in contact with them just makes me feel safe and loved. Recently, I discovered how awesome toys are (especially yak milk chews!). Sometimes I get so into chewing and playing that I totally zone out—pure bliss. I’m also a bit of a TV buff. My favorite shows are The Big Bang Theory and The Real Housewives of Orange County—so if you're into binge-watching, I’m your guy. Walks are the best! I don’t pull too much, and I’m working on getting even better with my leash manners. I don’t zig-zag or get too wild—just a little excited sometimes because there’s so much to see and sniff! I’ve met other dogs and usually do great! I’m very enthusiastic about making new friends, so I might be a bit much for more timid pups at first. I sometimes try to mount other dogs when I meet them—it's just my way of saying “OMG HI FRIEND!” but my foster parents are helping me work on that too. I’m house trained (yay!) and learning about the doggy door, but I’m still figuring it out. It’s a little mysterious to me right now. All in all, I’m a loving, loyal, goofy guy with a huge heart, and I can’t wait to find my forever family to snort, snuggle, and snack with.
04/09/2025 FROM FOSTER: He is doing terrific. He is such a sweetheart and just wants to snuggle and be next to a person. He is learning manners and is still working on the doggy door he is unsure about it. |
03/23/2025 From foster: He is doing great! He's an amazing little guy. Working on manners and doggy door skills right now! |
03/09/2025 From the foster parent: Chapo is doing great in foster care. He is such a lover who just leans into you for pets and hugs. We are still working on manners but he is very smart and is already loads better than he was from the first day. He gets very excited for walks and we are working on doggy door training now. We will be meeting with a trainer to help with dog introductions and guidance on the training he needs to be an even better best friend to someone. |
