About me Meet Davey, a dog with a heart as big as his head. He's approximately 4 years old, who loves nothing more than to curl up next to your side . His mellow nature makes him the perfect companion for lazy afternoons. But don't let his calm demeanor fool you. Davey has a playful side too, often showing it off during playtime with his foster sister or going for leashed walks with little pull. His adaptability to both quiet and active moments makes him a joy to be around. Davey's endearing qualities and loving nature make him the perfect addition to a quiet to moderate energy home.
05/29/2025 From foster: He is doing very well and very loved! Davey has recently figured out the doggie door which is a bonus but is completely pottie trained and have had no accidents. He doesn’t like getting baths in the tub or shower but is happy to get a bath outside with a hose and some soap. So far Not a fan of the adult pool, have been catching him drink out of the kiddie pool and walk through it to cool off. Overall a very chill dog that likes to hang around with his human family and snuggle. He does also like to run around the backyard and play with our other dog to get in his daily exercise. |
05/07/2025 FROM FOSTER: He is 100% potty trained, he is around female dogs. He lays around most of the day but does run the yard and play with my female foster dog. He likes to take leashed walks, doesn’t pull and walks pretty slow-medium pace. He is not a fan of car rides or being kenneled so he has free roam to the house with no destruction or accidents. We leave him alone 4-5 hour increments typically. I think he would do best in an environment where someone is home often as he really is a Velcro dog. Very calm dog over all with a little bit of anxiety, hence why he would do best with someone that is home often. |
04/30/2025 Toretto (I call him davey) is doing very good. He is a fantastic dog and has settled in well and will make someone an amazing friend. |

03/29/2025 AM rounds- alarm barking; pursed lips; tense body; dilated pupils |
03/28/2025 PM rounds- lying on bed and rose as handler approached; low growl; dilated pupils; pursed bark; tail down but not tucked; doesn't settle |
03/28/2025 AM rounds- BAR; whining |
03/27/2025 AM rounds- alarm bark; hard stare; stiff body |
03/26/2025 Handler approached outside portion of kennel; canine initially displayed vocalization while simultaneously retreating away from gate. Upon the primary handler tossing in food reinforcement (hot dogs and kibble) canine accepted treats and came forward; when kennel door was opened, canine moved forward but appeared to have difficulty visually orienting toward primary handler (possibly due to glare from sunlight) Handler repositioned to inside wing; from inside canine exhibited visible body tremors in hind legs, piloerection on back, ears slightly back, closed mouth, lowered head. Canine remained quiet inside kennel; treat scatter was utilized and canine was easily leashed. While exiting canine displayed moderate to strong leash pull; did not react to other dogs in wing. Upon entering yard, canine urinated immediately and engaged in brief environmental exploration before returning to handler, displaying affiliative behavior by pressing against handlers legs/thighs. A low, swooshing tail wag was observed, accompanied by intermittent whining (potentially due to environmental stimuli or separation from the dog he was found with) Canine allowed petting from primary handler on back, head, and legs and allowed touch/pets from a secondary handler on feet, ears, and chest without signs of discomfort. When two additional staff members approached fencing canine displayed affiliative signaling; loose body posture, soft tail wag, and relaxed commissure; canine was not interested in treats or toys in yard but continued seeking attention from handlers, alternating between them and accepting petting; used treats to guide the canine back into kennel; walked into kennel without issue. |
03/22/2025 Handlers went to back kennel door. K9 had hackles up, spine algined, tail aligned below spine stiff, musculature tense, eyes wide, pupils normal with focused stare on handler, barking with gutteral growl. Handler tossed in HV treats(hot dog pieces). K9 readily ate HV treats but did not soften demeanor. Handler slightly opened door and presented leash and K9 backed up and kept ducking leash while low growling. Handler leashed and K9 rushed out stopping in front of handler. Handler had to long arm K9 a little to turn K9 in direction of yard. K9 had hackles up, body stiff, remaining hyper-vigilant. 2nd handler walked ahead and opened gates to yard making sure handler and K9 had a clear path in. Handler did not feel comfortable dropping the leash, so handler and K9 walked around for a bit. Dog remained stoic avoiding both handlers. Evaluation was cut short because K9 had visible tapeworm in stool. K9 was remained stiff with hackles up on the way back and growled at a dog looking out its kennel door. K9 did not want to enter so Handler had to use mild leash pressure and run dog into kennel. Used clip leash to retrieve leash. |
03/22/2025 AM rounds- lying on floor, trembling; whining; slight tail wag |
03/21/2025 Approached rear of kennel to get picture; canine was lying against kennel door and when he looked up he tensed and began deep growling; after a few seconds he quieted and I was able to crack door and get picture |
03/20/2025 Canine was in finder's car in back seat, second dog was in front seat. As I went to scan the front seat dog this dog began whining/ barking from back seat and climbed partially into the front. I was able to scan without issue and place leash, left on and returned after paperwork was completed; canine jumped out of car and walked on leash; was constantly looking back for second dog; upon arrival to scale would not get on and thrashed briefly on leash; canine was tense and wide eyed, so we used a sort board to coax canine onto scale; was able to vaccinated with no restraint as canine was looking away; walked to kennel on leash, pulling hard; reactive and pulling hard toward neighboring dog with piloerection |
