About me Hello, I'm DJANGO! I'm a puppy with a heart full of joy and a spirit full of play. I love to run around and chase my tail, but I also know when it's time to sit and be good. I'm a bit of a goofball, but that's part of my charm. I can make you laugh with my silly antics and then melt your heart with my sweet puppy eyes. Life in the shelter is okay, but I dream of a home where I can share my love and happiness. If you're looking for a loyal friend who can bring joy to your everyday life, then I'm your pup! I’d do best in a home with Older Children 12+ My adoption fee is a bargain! Not only do you get my unconditional love and a new BFF, it includes my neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, and even some cool coupons!

07/12/2025 Out for Purple training. Very kinetic & unfocused for leashing, jumping & pushing, brief refocusing on treats (hot dogs), was eventually able to get loop over head. A bit of wandering on leash, mild pull but very easily managed. Zoomy in yard, jumped up briefly on handlers, tended not to persist or impact too hard, refocused for treats/'find it', took a second for him to focus on the game but caught on fairly quickly. After a while he even slowed enough to give me a 'sit' when I cued him; earlier attempts were unsuccessful, he was zooming and/or environmental. Easily rekenneled, removed leash by hand aided by treats. |

Used a wide loop leash, would dodge leash placement, assistant handler distracted dog with pets through gate while handler leashed dog. Once leash, walked with a relaxed body, soft tail wags & a moderate pull of leash to PY. While in PY, dog would explore with nose to ground while having soft tail wags up in air. Would come to handlers with a relaxed & soft body. Would jump up on handlers, handlers were able to side step to get dog to stop jumping. Offered treats, would take treats gently. Was not interested in toys. Very treat motivated. Handler would scatter treats for dog to settle with the amount of jumping. Handler stepped on leash to pick up as dog was wiggly & moving around when attempting to pick up leash. Handler walked dog back to kennel, dog would have a strong pull on leash while jumping up. Entered back into kennel with no issues & allowed leash removal by hand. Based on previous home notes placing an OLDER CHILDREN 12+ as a Requirement. |

06/22/2025 Closed inside for AM cleaning. Dog had wagging tail, soft body pacing in circles when handler approached. Came forward for treats, took gently and would stay at front of kennel sniffing handler with wagging tail. Handler presented leash and dog became wiggly, jumping on kennel door. Dog would keep jumping on kennel door as handler opened, had to wait for dog to settle to place leash. Walked with strong pull but is easy to direct to yard. In play yard dog solicited attentions with handler and explored, not interested in barking dogs. Dog became overstimulated after doing a lap around the yard, began jumping up at handlers face, appeared puppy-like behavior as dog had soft body and loose tail but does get rough jumping towards and on handler. Handler would direct dog down but dog would continue even after handler retrieved leash. Had to stiff arm leash away from handler to keep dog from jumping at handlers face as dog would not rest. Walked dog back to kennel with no issues, walked right into kennel. Dog would jump on kennel door and have high energy, had to wait for dog to put head down to retrieve leash by hand. |

04/08/2025 AM Rounds - Hiding in corner, ears back, shaking. |

04/05/2025 AM rounds- in back, resting |
04/04/2025 Dog regarded handler w/ furrowed brow, hunkered posture, whale eyed, ate tossed treats but would not approach, retreated through guillotine when handler opened kennel gate. Handler closed guillotine, lured leashing via jackpot and loop on ground. Once leashed he came right out, pulled ahead, circled around handler w/ hurried pace, offered soft eyes from beneath furrowed brow. Handler dropped leash in yard, dog spent a few minutes scenting/following nose along ground, handler opted to let dog approach when he was ready. After less than 5 minutes, dog regarded handler w/ soft eyes, lolling tongue, alert face/posture, loose neutral tail, took several bounding steps to approach and ran into handler in a light-to-moderate collision, loose-bodied & lolling tongue, did not seem to be a sincere attempt at maximum impact. Dog flopped against handler, leaning firmly against legs, allowing all petting & seeking additional, also at times grunting, whining or panting, ears occasionally briefly sweeping back, as well as pawing/lightly grasping, never fullly gripping nor seeming to be trying to, some minor scratches on arms. Dog would settle briefly from time to time, sit near or leaning against handler or lying nearby gnawing on collar hander had removed from around his neck. Handler reacquired leash w/ ease (dog readily brought it over), walked a lap on trail just outside main campus. Dog relieved himself, some wandering/circling as handler picked it up but other than that & minor occasional pull, dog seemed quite comfortable on leash. Back in yard, dog resumed same behaviors from earlier, now also awkwardly but fairly softly trying to clamber into lap and then balance once there, often unsuccessfully. A facilities crew member walked past yard at one point, did not get closer than approx. 15 ft. from fence, dog took 3 bounding steps toward (but did was still almost 20 ft. from fence), issued a few surprisingly deep, booming barks as he went, stopped on his own and monitored passage of pedestrian, then came back over to handler when softly called, resumed earlier loose, floppy aspect w/ brief moments of whining, ears sweeping back, etc. Handler also established that dog knows cue for 'sit.' Some soft interest in dogs on way back to kennel, flinched & hurried past those who barked at him. Went readily back into kennel, distracted w/ jackpot to prevent him coming back out. Recommend multiple handlers conduct mock M&G due to concerns noted w/ multiple handlers. |
04/03/2025 AM Rounds - sitting in rear of kennel; defensive barking; tail tucked way underneath; ears shifting then pinned; whale eyed; took hot dogs from handler when offered, then ran straight to back again |
04/02/2025 AM Rounds - QAR, in back. |
03/31/2025 AM Rounds - Standing on other side of kennel, did not come forward. |
03/30/2025 AM Rounds: QAR; hiding in the back of the kennel |
03/28/2025 Low growl, alarm barking, and hackles raised when attempting to remove from kennel. Allowed leash placement and walked to intake room where k9 was initially was very alert up handlers movements and would not allowed any petting. Low growled, body tensed, and hackles raised when another handler entered room. Took treats and calmed enough to allow vaccinations with no restraint and lick mat. Any prolonged contact would result in k9 turning head quickly towards hand/handler and when attempting to place mylar k9 snapped towards hand. Walked to kennel. |
03/28/2025 While assisting with intake canine would be soft and wiggly, but if you attempted to touch him he would bare teeth, growl, stiffen; at one point canine growled and lunged at second handler whiel first handler had hold of leash; behaviors intensified as time went on |
