About me Hi, I'm Lupe! I love walks, belly rubs, and cuddling up with people I am connected to. I'm a bit shy at first, but once I warm up, I'm the sweetest companion. Car rides are my favorite, especially when I get to sit quietly and watch the world go by. I also enjoy being brushed; it makes me feel relaxed. I can be a bit nervous in new situations, but I'm very gentle. I know how to sit for a treat, and I'm always eager to please. If you're looking for a mellow friend to share quiet moments with, I'm your girl. Adopt me and let's start our journey together! Please come see me in my foster home or a meet and greet area, as I will be more relaxed meeting you. I am ready for a wonderful, loving home.
08/14/2025 FROM FOSTER: Lupe is very comfortable in my home. She is an inside dog and will do best in a home where she is indoors with her family. But she likes walks and exercise. She prefers having someone with her and enjoys car rides. I had guests and Lupe climbed in their laps. She warms to women quickly and is good with men. |
08/05/2025 FROM FOSTER: Lupe's behavior is wonderful. She is relaxed and connected with me. When someone adopts her, they will have a sweet companion. By instructing new people to not reach out to her and to let Lupe initiate interaction, she is doing well with new people. People just need to understand she is scared at first. She approaches people that I signal she should meet. She loves walks and handles the heat surprisingly well. I don't run, but I can tell she wants to run and would be a good companion for a walker or runner |
07/31/2025 FROM FOSTER: Lupe is doing well. She is wonderful with me. I have taken her on walks and she behaves very well. Once she is comfortable with a person she is relaxed and happy. When she meets new people she is scared. If the new person allows Lupe to control contact, then she is comfortable and accepting. Lupe just needs time to trust new people. If someone visits her at a meet and great or in her pen at the shelter, they should give Lupe space and let her initiate. In a few days with me, she is affectionate. She likes pets and to be brushed |
07/26/2025 FROM FOSTER: Lupe is a sweet girl. She naps next to me, likes to explore our backyard and is good about not pulling on her leash. I have been with her for 48 hours and have not heard a single bark. She likes to be brushed. Lupe met my young adult daughter, and was immediately accepting. She is scared sometimes when meeting people in busy places. Lupe would be a good companion for a retired person or couple. She likes attention and having her human for company. She loves treats and is a good learner. |
07/26/2025 Foster brought to Stapley Petsmart event today. Low growl towards people entering adoption area while in kennel. Foster took out and walked around store and seemed to do better with people in store coming up and approaching, still did growl at select people however, but not at everyone like how she did while kenneled. Really likes hot dogs. Allowed for me to pet her outside of kennel with no issues. Left early due to her low growling at certain people during event while sitting outside of adoption area - foster thought she just may be overwhelmed and need time to adjust as he had only had her for 24 hours and now somewhere new (petsmart) (lots of changes in short amount of time). |
