About me Hi, I'm Tuko! I love to play and meet new friends. I'm full of energy and always ready for a game of fetch or a fun training session. Sometimes, I get a bit anxious and might shy away or grab treats too quickly, but I'm learning to be more patient. I'm also working on my leash skills; it's a bit tricky, but I'm getting better every day! I know 'sit' and am eager to learn more. If you're looking for a lively companion to brighten your days, I'm your guy! Why not come and meet me? Let's start our adventure together!

| 04/01/2026 I took Tuko out for some time in the yard today. Tuko was easy to leash and walked with a moderate pull to the yard. He zig-zagged and occasionally jumped on handler while walking to the yard. He ignored dogs in passing. Once in the yard, he ran around sniffing and would come over for pets from time to time. I tossed a medium sized soccer ball and he enjoyed fetching the ball. He chased after a bird that landed in the yard at one point. He could be jumpy at times but was easily redirected down. He showed his skills by understanding the "sit" command and can catch treats. I filled a water bowl and he enjoyed putting his whole snout in the water as he drank. Tuko walked with a mild pull back to the kennel. He seemed interested in the other dogs but was non-reactive. He walked right in the kennel and I was able to remove his leash by hand easily. |

| 03/24/2026 Out for Fido Field Trip - Tuko was the best fun and friendly companion for our day outing! He is such a smart sweet boy who loves people. Tuko was at first a little hesitant in the car but after our first stop jumped in and rode like a pro. We first went for a walk around some neighborhood lakes where Tuko walks nicely on the leash with some zigzagging to get in all the sniffs and smells. He greeted some pickleball players who all agreed he is a very handsome gentleman and wished him well in finding his forever family. After our walk we then hopped back into the car and went to a local sniff spot where Tuko played and sniffed to his hearts content. He enjoyed playing fetch and some gentle tug of war and then relaxed by his people. Lastly we took some time for a quick nap in the air conditioned car before heading back to the shelter. Tuko is friendly affiliative and always ready for a cuddle and to dole out some kisses. He was the best companion for the day for both myself and my parents who were visiting from out of town. |
