03/26/2026 LOVES affection, willl lean in for pets, will jump up on the bench when handler is sitting down and lay down on your lap for affection and just want to stay there. Is a total velcro dog when walking around the yard with handler. A little startled when walking past reactive dogs.
03/25/2026 Dog was laying in life room looking out of window on approach. Opened room door & dog would come to door with a relaxed body. Allowed easy leash placement without issues. Walked with a moderate pull & soft tail wag while walking to main PY. Would explore PY with a relaxed body. Approached handler on own & solicited attention. Leaned into handler while being pet without issues. Would take treats gently from handler. Appears to know "SIT". Would attempt to jump up onto bench while handler was sitting down, not able to fully jump onto bench. Would place front paws onto handlers lap & lean in for more petting. Picked up leash & walked back to kennel room without issues. Entered into room & allowed leash removal to be done by hand. Interested parties should be counseled on providing this dog with proper decompression time in a new home. Allowing time to adjust is important for their comfort and well-being. Adopters should be counseled on proper dog-to-dog introductions, which should only occur after the dog has fully decompressed. Potential adopters should be advised on the value of sustained enrichment and crate training to prevent this dog from engaging in destructive behavior when left alone at home. Families should be counseled on safe containment and supervision practices. **Placing OLDER CHILDREN 12+ & NO SMALL ANIMALS as REQUIREMENTS. Placing Only Dog as a Recommendation. Keeping previous Recommendations of Experienced Handler & to Go Slow. Interested parties should be made aware of all intake notes. Adopters should be counseled on proper dog-to-dog introductions, which should only occur after the dog has fully decompressed.
03/24/2026 Upon approach, dog was slightly tense, avoiding eye contact, lip licking. Handler pulled down kennel card and unlocked kennel and dog moved to outside portion of kennel. Handler closed guillotine and went to outside to meet dog. Dog was low but loose and wiggly, still avoiding eye contact. Handler unlocked kennel and presented leash. Dog wiggled more and put head through leash loop. Dog walked calmly, no pulling, gently nuzzling handler's leg. Stopped to urinate, followed into building, occassionally bumping into handler's legs, ignoring dogs in kennels both inside and outside. Dog entered life room, sniffed toy and when handler reached for leash, dog sat and waited for leash to be removed. Handler backed to leave room and dog tried to follow, handler stopped dog with a gentle voice and hands in front, facing dog, then proceeding to back out of room.
03/23/2026 Updating color level based on intake notes

03/06/2026 K9 was in the backside of kennel when tech approached from inside. Tech entered kennel and crouched down, talking to K9. K9 came in and put front paws on technicians lap, seeking pets. K9 allowed all handling and needed no restraint when placing e-collar on. K9 overall appears timid but iis soft and sweet when warmed up to.
02/26/2026 Retreated to back of kennel, tense body, low head, tucked tail, closed divider and reapproached from the back, whining, refused treats, evaded leash by turning head away, able to easily lasso, exited kennel willingly, reluctant to enter taxi but could not be coaxed to walk on leash, pulls away from leash pressure, muzzle wrapped for precaution, easy to lift into taxi, pushed to small play yard, slowly exited kennel and approached handlers, accepted all petting, solicited attention (head in lap, leaning on handler, jumped onto bench and rubbed on handler), refused treats, explored yard near end of interaction, defecated and urinated, reluctant to walk into taxi, easy to muzzle wrapped and lift into taxi, pushed to kennel, hesitant to exit taxi, walked out willingly with light leash pressure, easy to remove leash by hand.
02/25/2026 Handler approached from back half of kennel. Dog was lying in the front portion, calm, turned head to look back at handler but wouldn't approach with verbal coaxing. Slowly stood and walked into back half of kennel when offered treats, took gently from hand. Able to place leash with no issues, dog was hesitant to exit kennel, used treats and verbal coaxing but dog remained in kennel, startled by vocal neighbor, handler positioned taxi and tossed treats inside, dog walked past taxi then stopped, unable to coax out of wing, started to walk back towards kennel, handler then moved taxi closer and tried guiding in with gentle leash pressure, dog then thrashed, stood and placed front paws against handler, gave dog a moment to settle, allowed pets, able to muzzle wrap and place in taxi, restless at first then sat up and observed surroundings, panting heavily, no escape attempts. In yard dog explored, continued panting heavily, nose to ground, body neutral, slowly approached handler and allowed petting all over, no longer interested in hot dogs, wary of surroundings, continued exploring, allowed handler to approach and pet, gave slight tail wag, as handler picked up leash dog began to walk away towards corner, unable to coax out of yard, handler positioned taxi, able to muzzle wrap, pick up and place in taxi, dog stood and leaned into handler, rode well on the way back, dog was hesitant to exit taxi, handler started to lift divider, dog then entered kennel and allowed handler to remove leash by hand. *Dog would benefit from an experienced adopter that can provide proper socialization, slow introductions and decompression time to allow dog to adjust to new home.
02/24/2026 On intake after removing bucket that was stuck on k9s head, k9 turned into handler and crawled into handlers lap, handler pet k9 all over, k9 continued to push into handler and hide face in handlers arms.
02/22/2026 Tense body, stoic, side-eyeing handler over shoulder. Would not come forward when coaxed. Requesting full evaluation.
02/19/2026 Evasive, tried to snap at handler when ACO touched the bucket stuck on his head, netted, carried to truck.
