About me Hi, I'm Thor. I'm a bit shy and find this shelter life quite overwhelming. New faces and loud noises scare me, so I tend to keep to myself. I'm learning commands like 'sit' and 'stay,' but I need someone who understands that I take a little while to warm up. I'm working on my social skills, but I'll need a patient and gentle friend to help me feel safe and loved. Adopting me means giving me a chance to show you the loyal and loving companion I can be once I feel secure.

03/13/2026 Separated from kennelmate due to different pathways.
03/11/2026 **Dog Introduction with A5159779, Mac** Handlers separated from kennel mate, both dogs were pulled and separated for introductions to same dog out of sight of each other. Once separated from kennel mate, handler prepared large loop, dog stood near guillotine and had brief moments of loose posture and then would stiffen. Handler was able to cast large loop over dog on second try, once secured handler removed dog from kennel. Dog walked in erratic, darty manor to PY; dog was hesitant to pass through catch pin threshold. Once in PY handler held onto leash and walked dog around. Handler gave dog about 10 min of decompression time alone in the yard while Assistant handler was performing dog intro with kennel mate and Mac. During decompression time handler tried to engage with dog, dog was avoidant of handler. when handler would reach out dog would become wide eyed and try to move away. Dog was then introduced to Mac. Dogs did well at fence line,m displacing affiliative posture, dog loosened in posture when Mac appeared in sight. Mac was brought into yard for on leash greeting, dog did well, very loose and even began approaching handler and allowing pets but not soliciting them. Handler released dog while Mac remained on leash. Dog would survey the yard, run up and initiate play with Mac. Handler was able to call dog over and pet on chin, again dog did not solicit but allowed. Dog was running around yard for a bit, handlers were able to retrieve leash and walked dogs back to kennels. Dog allowed leash removal by hand. Handler opened guillotine and dog greeted kennel mate with sniffs and licks.
03/06/2026 (Evaluated separately from kennelmate.) Separated dog from kennelmate via divider. Dog appeared nervous, staying in back of kennel near divider door, sniffing and pawing at it. Handler tried calling dog over; dog looked back at handler with soft face, but would not approached. Handler opened gate; stepped in; spoke gently. Dog wagged tail and took a few steps forward. Sniffed towards offered treat but did not take. Returned to back wall to paw at divider. Handler stepped closer and was able to drape leash with large loop. Dog briefly hesitated to exit, then followed out behind handler with coaxing. Outside, dog walked erratically, nervous, tail tucked and head darting constantly. Pulled in different directions, hard to direct in straight line. Handler walked dog to smaller yard with no kennels in view. Attempted to push leash stopper; dog whipped head and quickly curled body away from handler. Handler opted to attach long line and walk dog on leash with slack instead. Dog appeared fearful of handler and surroundings. Paced with tucked tail, eyes shifting. No interest in tossed treats. Would not approach handler when called. Handler spent several minutes in yard, allowing dog to lead. Dog did not settle and remained on high alert, flinching at any sudden movements or loud noises. Handler walked towards catch pen; dog followed. Briefly flipped head back when handler's leg brushed against dog. Same walking style on return. Dog needed coaxing to enter main building. Walked into kennel without issue and sat near back wall, eyes wide. Handler stepped in, presented empty hand, dog sniffed towards it; remained stiff. Handler used extension tool to loosen leash, then pulled it off by hand. Once kennelmates were rejoined, this dog became much softer, wagging tail, looking up out of kennel at handler with soft face.
03/04/2026 *Evaluated with Kennel mate A5160587* Dog was pacing in kennel with kennel mate as handlers tried to separate for pull. Dogs would continue to dart between kennels together, unable to separate. Handlers leashed dog from back kennel by opening door slightly, reaching in and placing leash, able to secure on first attempt. Handler then fed leash through gate tried to keep leash out of way of other handler. Once both dogs were secure handlers opened gate, dogs darted out and walked on leash erratically. Dog darted to end of leash and spun around few times. Handlers helped guide dogs to smaller sized PY. Once in PY handlers attached extensions and sat on bench. Handlers tried to hold on to leash and encourage interaction before resealing. Assistant handler was able to pet kennel mate, dog approached and began playfully mouthing at assistant handlers hand while on kennel mates lower back. Handlers released dogs, dogs paced around yard with semi loose posture. Dogs surveyed ad marked. Dog chased after bird who kept trying to swoop down and grab hotdogs in PY. At first dogs were not interested in treats but with time dogs began to chase after treats. Handler tried to hand feed treats, dog would not take but kennel mate was willing to take treat. Assistant handler again knelt down and was able to pet kennel mate. Dog mouthed at hand again and then allowed pets on chest briefly, handler pulled hands away and dog solicited for more. When handler stood up both dogs darted away. When it came time to retrieve leashes dog kept distance Handler spent a minute or so adjusting leash to proper position (trying to free from under any legs). Handler was able to kneel down and adjust stopper and attach clip leash, dog lip licked and became wide eyed but allowed. Dog then walked back to kennel erratically, entered kennel and allowed leash removal using clip leash.
03/03/2026 Handler approached kennel front; dogs was standing in back; kennel mates retreated back and forth between guillotine; handlers decided to just leash both dogs at back; Assistant handler leashed her dog first; then lead handler went in tried to coax dog through crack but dog was hesitant; handler tried pulling leash up and over dog but dog kept moving; ducking; handler was finally able to place leash over head and was mostly on dog when dog came forward handler was able to pull leash back to better secure; Pulled this dog and kennel mate (A5160587) together to yard; This dog seemed more reliant on kennel mate; would follow kennel mate; tail tucked; retreats away; avoidant; handlers attempted to kneel down and pet dog; handler pet side of dog lightly; skin crawl didn't loosen; dog was timid; avoidant; sat against fence line; allowed but didn't solicit; handler added drag line and dropped leash and allowed dog to roam yard; This dog continued to follow kennel mate around yard; avoidant of handlers; if handlers called over, dogs were unphased continued sniffing yard; dog never approached handlers on own; if handlers walked yard dogs would be avoidant; retreat away from handlers; this one remained tail tucked; avoidant; ears pinned to side; side eyeing entire evaluation; when time to go assistant handler opened up catch pin and this dogs kennel mate went in and he followed near but was hesitant on entering catch pin; handler grabbed leash and and got dog in catch pin; attached clip lead for return; dogs walked with mild to no pull; entered kennel and was able to unleash by clip lead;
