About me Hi! I’m Waffles. I’m a bit shy but give me a minute and I’ll be the most curious and energetic friend you could have. I love exploring and learning new tricks, especially when there are treats involved! I can be quite independent, enjoying some quiet time, but I’m also really smart and love engaging in activities that challenge my mind. My mellow side means I’m great at relaxing with you after a fun day of adventures. Looking for a clever companion who can match your zest for life? I’m your guy!

| 05/01/2026 Handler approached dog from outside kennel; dog was standing at door with wide eyes; neutral posture. Handler tossed some treats; ate; presented leash for dog to sniff and spoke softly; dog retreated backwards and into corner of kennel. Handler opened door and offered treats on ground; dog would eat treats; avoidant of leash; had to reach arm into kennel to place leash; dog sat in corner with head turned away; ducked head low; avoiding eye contact; lip licking; began laying down; handler secured leash. Dog would exit kennel quickly; stop and go on leash to yard; took light leash guidance. Once in yard, dog would sniff around yard independently; tail arched downwards, ears slightly back; ignored handler. Dog was at fenceline and handler tossed treat in front of dog; paused; alert; ate treat; saw handler had bag of treats and slowly approached with curiosity; very treat motivated. Dog would stand a couple feet away from handler; took a couple of treats from hand but preferred handler to drop on ground; stoic, slightly tense. Handler would stand up and dog would look at handler with open mouth; light panting; neutral tail wagging; would not fully approach but began following handler around as handler picked up waste; chased after ball thrown for a moment but not interested after sniffing. Dog was avoidant of handler for majority of outing; retrieved leash from a distance; ignoring handler. Handler would have to coax dog with light leash pressure to get to exit gate; slightly interested in treat trail. When handler was opening gate dog would thrash back on leash suddenly and then pancake sprawled out on ground; wide eyes, focused stare. Not interested in treats; waited a moment, then tried coaxing again with verbal encouragement and light leash pressure; dog walked fine out of yard. Dog would continue to have moments of walking, then suddenly thrashing and pancaking; heavy panting, lip licking; attempted to coax into nearby taxi; unsuccessful. Handler would use spatial pressure by walking around dog in different directions to coax dog up and towards kennel. After a few minutes of coaxing, handler used firm leash pressure for a second and dog quickly got up and walked willingly all the way into kennel; removed leash using clip leash. |

Handler presented leash, dog began retreat towards back of kennel. Handler was able to drape large loop over head and secure. Once leash was secured handler opened gate. Dog was hesitant to exit kennel. Handler tried to treat trail dog and lower/kneel down. Dog would not come forward handler applied leash pressure to prompt dog to exit, dog came out. Handler walked dog over to PY. Dog had rounded posture and was wary. Handler used spatial pressure and light leash pressure to guide dog in right direction. Once in PY handler attached leash extension and released dog. Dog kept to self mostly and stayed near handler but would not directly approach. Handler tried to hand feed treats, dog would not approach. Handler tossed treat out and dog would eat. After some time handler was able to retrieve leash and began walking dog back to kennel. Dog walked very stop and go and required guidance. Once within 10 ft of kennel dog froze and would not move. Handler tried to treat lure and kneel down. Dog would pull back to go back and then freeze. Handler was going to attempt to muzzle wrap and carry back but dog became wide eyes, had pilo and began lip licking. Handler called for assistance.
