About me Hi! I'm Lenny, a young, energetic buddy full of smarts and love. Here in the shelter, things can get pretty overwhelming for me. I'm friendly, but I feel stressed and anxious, and I sometimes hide or jump at sudden noises. But give me a bit of patience and gentle guidance, and you'll see how quickly I can learn and adapt. I'm really just looking for a calm, understanding home where I can feel safe and loved. Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who's eager to please and ready to bring joy into your life.

| 07/17/2026 from foster: Lenny is still doing good, he’s coming out of shell more & more each day. He’s still skittish of sudden movements/noises but getting more relaxed with time. he wants to play with other pups (my grandpuppies came over) but all he ends up doing is mounting. It’s really his only downfall right now. (And honestly, we'd prob be fighting the lines to adopt him if can fix that ;-)) He’s getting more used to harness walks and doing great. Eating well with a slow feeder , was inhaling food so fast Saturday we got a slow feeder immediately for him:-) He’s very smart and such a fast learner & the biggest snuggle bug ever! We see a lil more of him coming around each day. It's really true what you all say that it takes time for shelter decompression, hope some of the other pups from foster night were given some extra time!! We're seeing glimpses of a new dog daily!! |
| 07/12/2026 From the foster parent: Lenny is doing great! He adapted real quick to home life. Crated well, walked amazing with harness, gets along with other dog (although my Senior doesn’t vibe with Lenny’s playful energy level, lol) We’ve almost mastered the dog door, through no fault of his, he just gets spooked by sudden noises & he’s working on understanding the flaps through dog door make the same noise each time. |
| 07/09/2026 Dog met across from fence with A5165009, they sniffed eachother, tail wagging. Both seemed playful initially, dog licked handler's face and then proceeded to try and mount A5165009, the other one low growled and both handlers agreed to end playgroup to avoid any further escalation. Pulls hard on leash, easy to return to kennel. |

He allowed petting and he took his treats very gently. He knows sit and will stay for pictures. I did not notice that he was timid at all. |

| 05/17/2026 Dog was laying in interior kennel, stood up and took a step away from handler on approach, handler spoke softly, offered hand, dog slowly approached, sniffed handler, low soft wagging tail, ears back. Went to outer kennel, but returned for treats, slightly grabby. Placing "yellow" due to kennel presence and intake notes. |
| 05/15/2026 Canine walked to intake room. Inititally loose body, took treats, allowed handling. As the intake progressed, canine became more anxious, pacing, frequent sharp whines, did not take treats anymore, avoidant of handling. Vaccinated with mild restraint. On route to kennel, startled and froze when passed barking dogs. Hesitant to enter kennel but able to be coaxed in, allowed leash removal. |
