7/24/2025 Approached front of kennel with relaxed body and soft eyes when verbally coaxed. Placing "green" due to kennel presence and intake notes.

5/15/2019 Playful with handler.
5/10/2019 Easy kennel pull; pulled hard on the leash. Dog entered the yard quickly and was stiff and stoic while greeting. Dog was stiff and stoic with flagging of his tail when around male dogs and was stiff and invasive with female dogs. Dog was conflict driven when dogs where vocalizing or playing around him. Dog easily reached his threshold and became reactive. Dog was moved to a solo yard where he was calm and quite. See adoption recommendations.
5/7/2019 Fighting with neighbor kennel; highly aroused and unable to remove from the kennel at the time. Moving neighbor before second attempt can be made.
5/3/2019 Dog was stiff and stoic in the kennel but allowed handler to leash and remove; once out dog walked well and was affiliative with the handler. Dog was aroused while in the catch pen. Dog entered the yard quickly and was pushy, dominant and overstimulated while greeting. Dog would not settle and was not released into the yard at the time.

7/30/2025 07/30/25 07:26 Brief exam due to contagious respiratory disease in the shelter. BAR. BCS 5/9. RR 30, no dyspnea. There is a small amount of mucoid nasal exudate at edges of nostrils. No coughing or sneezing observed. Suspect CIRDC. Start doxycycyline 250 mg po sid x 14 days then recheck. Move to I isolation.

BCS 4/9 HR 100 bpm, RR pant MM/CRT pink/ moist/ <2sec DENTAL: grade (1+/4); mildly worn dentition OPHTHO: NSF – OU clear, no blepharospasm or ocular discharge AURAL: AU mild debris CARDIO: NSF – no murmurs or arrhythmias ausculted RESP: eupnic; no coughing/ sneezing/ nasal discharge noted; normal bronchovesicular lung sounds ausculted in bilateral lung fields GI: mild - moderately pendulous abdomen; large, firm, nonpainful mass palpable in mid abdomen (located on R side but moveable between sides); soft, formed BMs w/ no frank blood noted DERM: multiple dark purple/ red dermal mass along caudoventral abdomen MUSC/ SKEL: NSF – ambulatory x 4 limbs, no lameness noted NEURO: NSF - normal mentation UROGENITAL: N/E L/N: N/E A: Underweight - ddx. undernourished, secondary to underlying systemic illness (r/o neoplasia); mid-abdominal mass - ddx. neoplasia, organomegaly, etc.; reported lameness - ddx. osteoarthritis, etc. P: 1. Continue treatment with metronidazole and gabapentin as prescribed. 2. Schedule radiographs to assess abdomen. nhilde
7/28/2025 07/28/25 Radiographs (unsedated) - large intra-abdominal mass of soft tissue density which is displacing bowel dorsally and caudally; loss of serosal detail throughout the abdominal cavity; moderate lumbosacral spondylosis. A: Large intra-abdominal mass - ddx. neoplasia (r/o origin: spleen, GI, etc); lumbosacral disease. P: Dog is not suitable to PUFA/foster. Dog needs outlet with NH Partner for full workup, including comprehensive bloodwork, advanced imaging, possible surgery, etc. Dog is at risk of humane euthanasia on 8/5/25 if no outlet is found by COB on 8/4/25, but may be humanely euthanized earlier if QOL declines. nhilde

7/26/2025 Thin, runny, liquid bright red stool in kennel. Dog's abdomen appears distended. VET TECHNICIAN EXAM (Date: _07/26/25 14:54______) DUE TO VET CHECK REQUEST Attitude: BAR- soft-body, allows all handling BCS: _4/9 Ocular Discharge / Squinting: Y- mild mucoid eye discharge OS, continuously squinting OS Coughing/Sneezing: Y- coughing (hacking), and sneezing Nasal Discharge - Mucoid / Serous: Y- serous nasal discharge Vomiting/Diarrhea: Y- runny, liquid, red/orange stool seen in front of kennel Appetite: Poor- hardly touched dry kibble, added wet food and K9 ate it Other Notes of Concern / Observations: Did observed k9s stomach to be firm to the touch, also observed k9 limping from back hind leg but still putting weight on leg. 7/26/2025 07/26/25 14:15 Telemedicine assessment. Patient reported to be BAR and active in kennel. Great appetite for wet food. Small amount of liquid score 7 light brown stool in kennel, no obvious hematochezia or mucus in photo. MM pink and moist with CRT <2s. Reported to be slightly favoring LHL while ambulating, but readily ambulates and does bear weight on the limb. - diarrhea: r/o secondary to stress vs intestinal parasites vs recent diet change vs dietary indiscretion - mild abdominal distension in photo: r/o organomegaly vs mass effect vs ascites vs conformational (i.e. pendulous secondary to breed appearance) vs other. Patient reported to be doing well and appears stable at this time, suspect chronic process. - LHL lameness: r/o secondary to soft tissue injury vs skeletal injury vs osteoarthritis vs other. Suspect osteoarthritis or soft tissue injury as main rule outs given signalment and mild nature of lameness. PLAN: run Giardia SNAP, run fecal float, RX metronidazole 10mg/kg PO q12h x 7d, gabapentin 200mg PO q12h x 14d, add wet food to diet.
