5/22/2025 05/22/25 17:50 This dog is experiencing significant stress and anxiety in the shelter, particularly while kenneled. These behaviors are often a response to the overwhelming sights, sounds, and confinement, along with the lack of choice or control over their environment. Although this dog continues to show appropriate behavior outside of the kennel with positive interactions with staff and volunteers,without intervention, well-being will continue to decline. Immediate placement is needed with an experienced adopter or New Hope Partner who can provide time and space to decompress in a calm, supportive home. Placement needed by close of business 5/27/25. May be at risk of euthanasia 5/28/25 or sooner if warranted.

5/22/2025 Out for Purple training w/ volunteer. Mild arousal when leash presented but much more relaxed & soft than prev. occasion. Mild pull ahead when walking, very engaging w/ handler in yard, seeks & allows petting, often seeks additional. Focused on dogs when passing by yard, some rigidity in posture, leaning forward, ears rotated to fore, tail sweeping wide & loose at level w/ spine, face soft, loose when trotting along fence beside them. Easily rekenneled.

5/15/2025 Solicited attentions, Moderate to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Takes treats nicely, Somewhat Pulls on Leash, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels, Sit, Barking, leaping and appeared agitated by similar behavior in neighbor. Had to reset by leave building, then quick large lasso, strong pull to exit. Moderate pull on walk. 2 poops in play yard, sat for treats, leaned in for pets. Very sweet in play yard and on walk.
5/15/2025 Dog was jumpy, wiggly soft body on approach, easy pull from kennel, easy walk to PY. Handler brought dog to first empty PY. Dog explored but quickly directed attention to A4999616 who was in neighboring yard. Dog sniffed A4999616 through the fence, high wagging tail, ears perked. Dog jumped up at fence and landed side ways. Handler picked up leash and directed dogs attention to enrichment. Dog was able to be redicrected but attention would quickly go back to A4999616. Handler brought dog over to sniff A4999616 through front of fence. Dog continued wiggly body, jumpy, whining. Handler brought dog in and both dogs met. Both very interested in each other, ears perked, fast tail wag, sniffing each other. Dog seemed to be advancing more towards A4999616 while A4999616 at times wanted to back off and take breaks but both were jumpy and loose. Other handler dropped A4999616 leash. Once dog settled a bit more down, handler dropped dogs leash. Both had good back and forth play, running around yard together. Dog wasn't taking as many breaks as A4999616 was and started following close behind A4999616 and would eventually try to mount. Dog was redirected fairly easily by handler but A4999616 wouldn't tell dog no. Third handler brought A5089370 to emtpy yard and all dogs sniffed each other through side of fence. Third handler brought dog around and handlers picked up leashes. Dogs were soft wiggly. A5089370 was brought in for intro with dog and A4999616. All dogs sniffed each other in a circle, dogs started to get jumpy and wiggly. Other handlers dropped their leashes, handler held on to dogs leash a little longer, to see if dog would settle a bit more. Handler dropped leash, all dog had good back and forth play, wiggly bodies, running and sniffing together, taking breaks when needed. All three dogs shared water from bucket, continued with soft bodies, soft wagging tails. Dog started to direct attention on A4999616, "air humping" and following behind. Was able to redirect but dog would go back. Handler let dog sniff dogs to leave on a good note and brought dog back to kennel, easy walk back and easy leash removal.

5/14/2025 Moderate pull from kennel, strong pull on leash. In yard, dog explored with soft body, affiliative with handlers, allowed petting all over, got zoomies, chased toys. Easy return to kennel.
5/13/2025 Dog maintained wiggly, soft body throughout introductions with other dogs. Very high interest in dogs but remained playful and soft when greeting dogs at gate. Dog had high energy, but does return to handler when called over and stayed wiggly. First introduction this dog had high interest meeting dog at gate, but other dog showed signs of stiffness, growling, and tail flagged, ended introduction. Brought out next dog and both dogs had matching energy levels, high energy and playful. Good introductions at gate, high interest with wagging tails and loose body. Good interactions in yard, this dog began to get over aroused and tried mounting other dog, was able to seperate but dog became fixated so interaction was ended.

5/11/2025 Dog was jumping on approach to kennel. Handler offered treats then was able to leash dog after dog settled with no issues. Walked with a hard pull on leash to PY. Explored PY with a relaxed body. Allowed all petting. Was not interested in toys. Urinated & defecated once in PY. Solicits attention from handler. Walked back to kennel with a hard pull on leash. Entered into kennel with no issues & allowed leash removal by hand.
5/10/2025 Jumping high and demand barking.
5/10/2025 Approached kennel to take on a walk. Dog kept jumping up. Would not settle with treats. Attempted to leash dog, dog kept jumping up & pushing on gate. Handler removed hand & leash from kennel. Dog started to demand bark & dilate pupils. Offered more treats & dog would not take treats, would not settle. Handler did not take dog for walk. Handler returned with soft & hard toys along with a long lasting enrichment treat for dog.
5/9/2025 Leaping and jumping against door, demand barking, wouldn't settle.
5/9/2025 Dog approached handler, soft body and wagging tail, took treats. Began jumping against kennel door when presented with leash, waited for dog to settle before placing leash, took a few attempts. Once leashed no issues on the way to yard, showed no interest in other dogs. Affiliative with handler, soft body and wagging tail, leaned into handler's legs and allowed petting all over. Approached fence when noticing kenneled dogs on other side, tail flagged, ears erect, alarm barked, stood and placed paws on top of fence, able to redirect and call dog back over to handler. Sat for treats, took gently. No issues on the way back, easy return and leash removal.

5/9/2025 Out for Purple training. Reactive/kinetic in kennel, settles & softens considerably in yard. Very social & engaging w/ handlers.
5/8/2025 Jumping high while demand barking.
5/8/2025 Dog was demand barking on approach to kennel. Handler offered treats then waited for dog to settle. Once settled, handler presented leash, leashed with do issues. Dog walked to PY with a moderate pull on leash. Explored PY with a relaxed body. Demonstrated "SIT", "STAY" & "PAW" with handler for treats. Very treat motivated. Played fetch with handler. Walked back to kennel with no issues. Entered into kennel & removed leash by hand.
5/7/2025 Demand barking, started jumping at kennel door.
5/7/2025 Dog was at fornt of kennel on approach. Wagging tail, wiggly body. Handler opened kennel door and threw treats down, dog ate treats, attempted to leash but leash slipped past front legs. Was able to leash with second leash with ease. Retreived other leash, walked to yard with light pull. In yard, dog explored, sniffed, defacated. Dog saught handlers for attention and treats. Dog leaned in for pets and accepted pets all over. Sat for treats multiple times. Dog fetched ball and toys. Dog was attentive to others walking near yard. Walked well on leash back to kennel, kennel door was open, dog walked right into kennel with treats, easy leash removal.

Walked with some pull on leash but easy to direct. In play yard dog had high energy, solicited attentions with handler and accepted pets all over. Solicited attentions with staff members outside of yard, soft and accepted pets. Explored around yard and would return to handler for pets. Walked back with no issues. Easy return and removed leash by hand.
5/5/2025 dog was jumping up with wiggly body and demand barking upon approach, took a couple attempts due to dog jumping and pawing, had moderate pull to play yard, in yard, dog got zoomies and accepted petting all over, settled after a few minutes, explored yard and took treats gently, knows "SIT," dog allowed handler to retrieve leash, had a moderate pull to kennel, easy return to kennel
5/4/2025 Dog greeted handler at front of kennel with wagging tail, wiggly body. Jumped on kennel door as handler presented leash, demand barking and pawing at door. Once dog settled handler was able to leash with no issues, walked with some pulling to yard. In play yard dog had high energy, solicited attentions with handler and would explore with wiggly body. Sat in front of handler and accepted pets all over. Walked back to kennel with no issues and allowed for easy leash removal.
5/3/2025 Offered dog treats, dog kept jumping up in kennel. Once settled for treats, handler opened kennel door & leashed with no issues while dog was eating treats on ground. Walked with a moderate pull to PY. Handler would walk around in PY with dog following close by handlers side. Handler would stop while walking, call dog by name, dog would stop & look at handler, handler would instruct dog to sit then offer a treat. Dog did not appear to be interested in playing with toys. Very treat motivated. Walked back to kennel with a moderate pull on leash. Handler had to toss treats into kennel for dog to enter, removal of leash by hand with no issues.
5/2/2025 At front of kennel; soft wiggly body; tail wagging; started jumping; tossed treats on floor; dog ate treats; was able to leash after a few attempts; exited kennel; walked well; explored for some moments in yard; soft body; tail wagging; sought attention from handlers; allowed all petting; took treats gently; laid down at handlers feet; remained there for a few moments; staff walked by with a dog; this dog stood up; followed alongside fence; soft body; tail wagging; relaxed mouth; came back to handlers; laid down; stood up when customer walked by; dog watched as customer walked by; allowed handler to pick leash up; walked well back; stopped at kennel entrance; tossed treat; dog followed; allowed leash removal.
5/2/2025 Dog was at front of kennel on approach. Starting jumping at kennel. Handler opened door and threw treats on ground and was able to leash dog. Dog walked with loose body to yard. In yard, dog explored around and sniffed. Dog took treats from handler and allowed pets. Dog would perk up when other people and dogs were walking by but would come back towards handler. Dog layed down on turf. Walked with loose body back to kennel. Door was open and dog was hesitant at first to go in but eventually did when treats were thrown in. Dog let handler remove leash.
5/1/2025 Dog greeted handler at front of kennel with wagging tail, wiggly body. Took treats gently. Began jumping on kennel door when handler presented leash, waited for dog to settle and applied leash. Walked with some leash pull but easy to direct. Solicited attentions with handler immediately, allowed petting all over with wiggly body and wagging tail. Followed handler around yard and solicited attentions with a staff member outside of yard by jumping on play yard gate with wagging tail and allowed petting all over. Followed handler to bench and allowed petting all over, took treats gently and after awhile laid down on handler feet. Walkede back to kennel with some pulling, no issues returning to kennel and removing leash by hand.
4/30/2025 Dog was at front with soft wiggly body and tail wagging. Grabby with treats through kennel. Once handler presented leash dog started jumping up at kennel door and barking. Handler was able to toss several treats onto floor dog started to eat treats handler quickly leashed. Dog ate treats then exited kennel. Moderate pull. In yard, dog explored for several moments with soft body. Approached handler and allowed for petting. Went back to exploring. After several moments, handler verbally coaxed dog approached and demonstrated sit for treat. Allowed for more petting. Tossed tennis ball dog was not interested. Allowed handler to pick leash up. Added clip leash. Moderate pull back to kennel. Kennel door was wide open. Handler tossed treats dog followed. Removed with clip leash.
4/27/2025 Dog is very fixatied on handler when handler enters building. As handler approaches kennel, dog has loose body but hard stare with high wagging tail. Dog attention barks at handler. Once handler puts hand up for a sniff, dog will give kisses but continue to hard stare as handler disengages.
4/26/2025 Closed outside for AM cleaning. Dog was standing at kennel door, high wagging tail, took treats. When presented with leash dog became jumpy at door, pawing and being vocal. Used hot dogs to distract dog, able to place leash. Once leashed moderate pull to yard, showed no interest in other dogs. In yard dog was affiliative, wiggly body and wagging tail, allowed petting all over. Knows sit and down for treats, took gently. Chased toys but didn't fetch. Able to walk back, return and remove leash with no issues. *Recommeding Experienced Handler due to behavior when leashing.
4/25/2025 Attempting to pull for Dog Intros. Dog was closed outside for AM cleaning, jumping at kennel, pawing and being vocal, wouldn't settle. Due to dog being difficult when attempting to pull requesting updated eval.

4/10/2025 Jumping, barking, used treat to leash. Moderate pull to yard. Ran, energetic. Came to handler, allowed pets, accepted treats, sit. Walked well w/harness wrap. Barked at dog on way out to path. Easy return.
4/3/2025 Out to a yard for ten minutes, easy pull, walked well on leash, showed lots of interest in other dogs. Playful, allowed all petting and handling. No return issues.
3/31/2025 Went to pull dog for Run Buddy. Dog had pupils dilated, demand barking & jumping high while bounding off kennel gate. Did not pull for Run Buddy.

3/28/2025 Dog approached handler, wiggly body and wagging tail, took treats. Easy to leash, moderate pull to yard, high wagging tail and hackles raised when walking by other dogs but did not attempt to interact. In yard dog was affiliative with handler, jumpy at first when offered treats but settled, sat and took gently. Allowed petting all over. As another dog was walking by dog followed with high wagging tail, began crying/howling after other dog walked away into neighboring yard. Redirected with treats, no issues on the way back, dog resisted entering kennel, tossed treats on bed to coax dog in, easy leash removal.

5/27/2025 05/27/25 14:27 BAR and very excitable. Dog is grade 1-2 lame on left fore when moving around kennel. BCS 5/9 MM-pink, CRT<2sec H/L-WNL. HR 70, RR-panting, no dyspnea. EEN-WNL Derm-WNL M/S-removed from kennel and walked outside. Was intermittently lame on LF. Mild discomfort on flexion of left carpus. No edema, no wounds found. ABD-WNL Repro-WNL Suspect soft tissue injury to left carpus. Start carprofen 100mg po sid x 5d. Place DO NOT WALK sign. Recheck lameness on 06/02/25.

4/22/2025 04/22/25 15:00 14d post-doxycycline therapy recheck. Patient is BAR with good appetite. Patient has no nasal discharge, no ocular discharge, normal respiratory rate and effort, no coughing, no sneezing. No active CIRDC symptoms. Okay to move out of isolation and conclude therapy as previously prescribed.

A: - Signs of CIRDC noted upon exam. Likely viral etiology with secondary bacterial component.
